The winsomest little cutie!

Still Life with a Rabbit
;)

We were all so thrilled to have some visitors from San Antonio! Here Daniel E. & Paul B. talk with Andrew, while Micah & Mike B. discuss something else. :)

That evening, while our guys & guests were going to a Bailey VFD meeting, Mom, Ben, & I attended a very special concert in Denton. The university there was honoring an amazing family -- the Adkins -- for their outstanding accomplishments in music.

Some of them: Madeline, Anthony, Clare ( Ben & my violin teacher), and Christopher

Each of the siblings is first chair or leader in Symphonies across the country, and it is simply amazing to hear them play together. Words truly fail to explain how good they are! :)

A fantastic, moving evening of music
While they all have very good instruments, Madeline played a 1763 Guadagnini which was loaned to her for the concert. I've never heard a violin that wonderful before -- the clear, melting tones it produced were more than gorgeous!

The next day, we visit with our guests...

Doesn't this photo make you a little dizzy?
(Stephen was experimenting with unique camera angles :)

And the darling boy himself, surrounded by his "duckies." He likes sitting with them, and talking to them -- "They like to hear me tell them stories," he says. They do like him very much! :)

We keep discovering things that are Beth's! I pulled these hoopskirts out, and Sheriff promptly decided they were the perfect place for a nap. ;)

Our neighbor's barn continues to rise :) Isn't it such a great color?

Rain! We're so grateful for it! And I'll share my favorite quote about rain:

"I do not generally agree with those that find rain depressing. A shower-bath is not depressing; it is rather startling. And if it is exciting when a man throws a pail of water over you, why should it not also be exciting when God throws many such pails?"
-G.K. Chesterton, Tremendous Trifles

  3. Stephen with his ducks reminds me of David when he had ducklings at about that age. :)
