The evening before our trip, we had N&K over for dinner (a scheduled, weekly occurrence! :)

Okay -- now we're on our way!
A neat old bus, spotted as we near St. Louis!
We spent the night with a family we'd connected with via "Candle in the Window"
(actually, the entire trip we stayed with "CitW" people!)
Having fun
A great quote, on an artistic background...
They had this really neat idea -- writing blessings for each child on their mirror
Goodbye!
We went through a town called Brentwood -- much to our delight! It wasn't much like the "real" Brentwood, though. ;)
Yes, that's steam -- a hose popped off for some inexplicable reason. :( Thankfully, Andrew noticed the "smoke" and was able to fix it and put water in the radiator again! :0
So thankful for mechanical guys!
Stop for some extra trip food...
Andrew, taking a pic to text to Daniel E. ;)
We stopped at the house that Grammy grew up in! It's rather a neat place!
Mom & Aunt Suzanne went inside, and the rest of us waited outside...
Next stop -- the church where they think Grammy and Papa got married :)
Andrew increases his arm muscles while Debs, the lookout, peeks round the corner... not really. ;)
A pretty old church
Then, on to St. Louis proper -- where they paint the hooves of their carriage horses pink! ;)
A baseball game was going on right by the Arch, and there were all these guys there, trying to wave passersby to expensive parking lots... ;)
At last, we found parking!
First stop, the Capitol, to buy tickets for the Arch
This really neat old metal staircase in the Capitol reminded me of how you like these, Bethy!
Uncle Ken :)
Art?
Us kids ascended the staircase...
All the levels
On our way down again, to join the grown-ups! :)
Next: the St. Louis Arch!
