Trip - Part 4

After the graveside service, some of us went over to see Lincoln's Tomb (Grammy had wanted us to see it).

Supposedly, it was good luck to touch his nose -- that's why it's shiny ;)

 The tomb interior

I was fascinated by this tomb (I jokingly called it "Stonehenge") across the way -- be we didn't go over to see it

 Cousin Richard and Dad

 Uhh?

 Next: walking to lunch!

 Fun visiting! :)

I loved all the old buildings!

Trying to find the Lincoln museum!

 Andrew, the pro photographer ;)

A huge THANK-YOU to Uncle Ken for buying our tickets for the museum!

 ;)

These gowns were worn by Mary Lincoln's social rivals

 Quite impressive

Anti-Lincoln cartoons of the period

A plaque mentioning the death of the Lincoln's son in the White House.
I did not know that Mary Lincoln had a half-brother who fought on the Confederate side -- did you?

There were two REALLY impressive theater productions!
