A Rainy, Fun Week!

Playmobil has been a tried and true plaything for so many of us children over the years... :)

Late summer flowers

Even the dried husks of flowers have a sort of beauty, though!

Fast biker-boy :)

The purple thistles are really abundant this year, and create an amazing swath of purple and teal...

Another look

How grateful I am for this beautiful road to take walks on!

Autumn's coming is being heralded by teeny changes of color -- a leaf here, a blade of grass there...

The Sherman Symphony Orchestra's 2014-2015 season is beginning! For information about the concerts, visit www.shermansymphony.org

 Ben :)

We got rain! :) It's always so fun to get out in it... :)

Sheriff sometimes meets us on our walk :)

The McK's had us over for dinner -- what a nice evening! :)

 Seth

 Our hostess

 Fun with Ruth!

Amazingly, the weather changed and the needed rain brought gorgeously-cooler temperatures!

Such fun to have chilly weather so you can cuddle up with a book and hot chocolate!

And... our pond actually has a smidgen of water in it!

The hummingbirds faithfully came, even while it was raining :)

They glare territorially at each other while they drink... ;)

The house is ready, the lights are on, and... we're waiting for guests to arrive! A post on our visit will be next!

  1. The cooler temperatures were a lovely reminder that Fall is on the way. It got down to 58F one of the nights.

I love the succulents! How cute. :) I have been growing some for about a year now, and really enjoy their dainty beauty.
