We left early (yes, this is a.m.) so we could get a head start on our two long days of travel! It's Saturday morning.
Last glimpses of the dear fog-laden hills...
Loading up the final things!
Golden Gate Bridge again!
We dropped Beth&Erich off at Aunt Suzanne's to catch their flight home, and continued driving, driving...
Quick stop at a fun fruit stand!
Airplane "junkyard" in the desert
What neat cloud-shadows on the mountains!
Sunday
Loading up in the morning!
Forever and ever on...
We all (except the driver) did a bit of this :)
Semi trailer, wrecked and burned...
To pass the time, we sent selfies to Beth and others... ;)
If you look close, you can see Stephen, holding up a Lego creation he'd made :)
Near Amarillo, there was more water than we'd EVER seen -- yes, that brown is water! Texas has supposedly received enough rain, just this May, to cover the whole huge state to a depth of 8 inches.
This gas station had 15-25 black 5-gallon buckets all throughout the store, catching drips! :0 Most were full of 5-10 inches of water!
Changing watches back to good old Texas time...
Pretty intense storm damage! (notice the one in the background, completely knocked down?)
Then -- about an hour & a half from home, our van suddenly died! :(
Andrew uses his mechanical genius
Deborah texts our plight to friends ;)
This kind man stopped and drove Dad and Andrew to a parts store to get what we needed!
Interesting new look, huh?
Nothing to do... ;)
By the mercy of God, we were on the road again an hour later! We're so grateful for the mechanical skills He gave Andrew! :) :)
Then -- as dark fell -- we arrived home at last!
That's the end of our trip! Trips are always great, but it's always so nice to be home! :)
Thank you for posting all of the pictures! I'm glad that y'all were able to make that special trip. Love, Bethany
