Trip to Georgia - 1

On October 19th, I set off with Beth, Erich, & Charlotte E. for the Savannah, Georgia, area -- and didn't get back home until November 1st! It was a nice experience, and I have quite a few photos to show! ;)
In the coming days, look for continued posts on the trip!

Sleeping -- Charlotte travelled very well in the car!

It was chilly when we stopped to look at roses in Tyler!

Choosing one...

... this price, how can you resist? ;)

Erich drive by his former college

Stopped at a rest stop, so Charlotte could eat and we could stretch out legs...

Have you ever travelled with roses before?

Neat old train bridge!

Odd perspective -- it almost looks like there's nothing under the cars!

I climbed a small hill, on which was posted a cannon, and had thus a bird's-eye view... here are Erich & Beth down below

So pretty!

Here is a shot of me ;)

The shadow look so interesting

The three people who were nice enough to take me along!

The day ended with a beautiful sunset

  1. That road you took looks suspiciously familiar. I'll bet it's the same one we took when we came out here! And was that canon overlooking the Mississippi by any chance? I know there's a sizeable battleground memorial around Vicksburg 'cause I've been there.

    1. Yes, that cannon was overlooking the Mississippi -- how amusing that we both have driven the same route! ;)

  2. Well, that's about the easiest way to go east! Unless you prefer the mountains, but that would have been miles out of your way!
I was on it when we went to the 2005 Father Daughter Retreat, and then again for the same conference in 2006. The first time, Dad stopped us at the Vicksburg Battleground site for some pictures. It's a nice view, isn't it?
