Since I've been exposed to a lot of old family photos recently, I decided to inflict them upon you all...
Geraldine ("GeGe"), my great-grandmother
My great-grandfather, George Leonard ("Shag") Shultz
GeGe was dating a young man named Edward Wenneker, when he was among the many who were drafted for WWI. "Shag's" mother threw a going-away party for Edward & her son, and invited Edward's girlfriend "just because"... There, Shag and GeGe met and quite hit it off. After the war, Shag came home and married her! :)
Their daughter, Joan ("Grammy"), my grandmother
Joan and her sister Jean
Joan (Grammy) as a young lady
My grandfather, Richard Indermill ("Dick"). He joined the Navy in WWII, but was too late to see combat.
A friend and "Dick"
Dick
Dick and Joan were married on this date:
Dick and Joan
The man third from left and the lady second from right are Shag and GeGe. They were avid opera-goers.
Grammy's cousin John served honorably in WWII and also in North Korea.
Papa (Dick)
Aunt Suzanne, Mommy, Aunt Catherine, and Uncle John
Mom's family (the girl on the far left was a friend)
My great-great grandmother, Anna Chilton
Daddy as a little boy. Wasn't he adorable?!?! :)
Mom & Dad on their honeymoon.
Do you think this is where we got our "matching" ideas? :)
What neat pictures of your family! It's even more neat that you know a little bit of their story! Your dad looks just like Stephen in the young picture of him!
ReplyDeleteI do think Dad looks kindof like Stephen in that pic. ;)
DeleteSo fun to have you comment, Rebekah! It was SUCH a treat to get to talk to you at Mr. Hutchins' party few weeks ago! :) :)
Love,
Elisha
Whoa, Your dad looks just like Ben did at that age! :) Cute pictures - I love old black and whites.
