CA Trip - June 7th

Fun blocks that Grammy has beside her sink--a simple game but fun. :)

Peek-a-boo!

Unidentified Chinese goddess and deer

Wild turkey!

He herds his flock away from the tall person :)

So much neat landscaping near Grammy's

Vivid

I love Dad's sense of humor!

Writing postcards... :)

In Which some of us take a walk to Annadel State Park!

The polo field. So, SO neat!!!

The neatest little path... I remember walking down it with my grandfather when I was a tiny girl.

Ooooh!

Another path leads on...

Dangerous?

The trees don't seem so tall, but when you stop and look at them, they're amazingly impressive!

Add 20-30 feet of tree above the height shown in this pic...

Either our uncle was being naughty, or a favorite book character was here, or... ;) ;)

Explore, anyone?

I love how gnarled the old oaks are here

Onward, ever onward!

This reminds me of a painting Beth likes...

Back on to my favorite little trail--can you smell the inimitable scent of drying grasses?

Living lace

Guardian of the polo grounds

Relaxing and being read to...

We went to the "parish hall" to play for Grammy-- she always enjoys hearing everyone's progress on the piano. She used to play the piano herself.

Conversation...

We made it to the pool again!

:)

Drying off afterwards!

Grammy's neighbor has this idol in his yard :( :(
Reminds one of the wacky fanatic in that Chesterton tale, doesn't it, Beth?

Stephen & I spotted this deer on our evening walk! Weren't we excited!!!

A quiet evening -- a bit sad because we know we have to leave tomorrow.

(thanks for this photo, too, Bethy!)

  1. There are wild turkeys out there, too?
We have 'em here in NC. Been going around the last few months tellin' folks that the road runners got bigger. *blinks innocently*
