Afterwards, we went to our friend's house and had a lovely time visiting with them!
Interesting -- two pieces of mirror, at slightly different angles... ;)

 So pretty...

It was a lot of fun to take a walk!

 Looking into the water...

A tiny baby goat! They were dwarf goats

Throwing stones in the water to see the splash...

 Another lovely view...

On our way home that evening.

I must admit, this blog is a very curious thing. I’m still trying to wrap my brain around the information scattered here.

The self-absorption of this blog fascinates me. Well, blogs are a kind of online diary, so some self-focus is to be expected, but still… tell me, which was more important to you when you posted this entry: honoring the “godly” woman at the funeral, or making sure everyone who reads this blog knows you were there honoring her? One photo of the funeral, five of your family attending the funeral, one of which was a selfie (selfies, in photography, are the most self-absorbed of ALL photographic subjects, if social media trends are anything to go by).

And, speaking of selfies… here’s the thing. I get the impression that the Wahlquist family is one of those ultra-conservatives, fundamentalist Baptist families - correct? I’m guessing you guys don’t watch much tv or listen to popular music. And you dress really conservatively - similar to how the infamous Duggar family used to. 11th picture down on the blog, the selfie of the one daughter, doesn’t jive with this. Actually, I almost laughed when I saw that picture and the one that follows it, because they are two different pictures of the same person and they have two opposite effects.

The first picture has the girl standing with one hip suggestively cocked (or the camera tilted to make that effect). Third way down from the top is the girl’s face, which is wearing a… not so pleasant expression (no smile, pouting a little). Nothing about that face to make it a focal point of the photo. And a third up from the bottom margin is her chest, nicely framed by the way her jacket lays over her shirt. Wanna guess where my eyes hit first?

The second selfie, while still a selfie, is so much nicer. Decent smile, framed in such a way that the first thing you see is her face, which is actually kind of pleasant when she’s smiling and looking right at you.

Two different views of the same person. Tell me, Wahlquists, which one is she? Who is the audience for the first picture, and who is the audience for the second? What kind of “witness” does each picture have! There’s fodder for your evening devotions.
