I get so excited about the 4th of July -- it's such a special, fun day of celebration for our family! And of remembrance: what amazingly courageous men our Founding Fathers were!

Good guess! Actually, William S. Phillips started painting in the mid-70s, and is still painting today. I've just discovered this artist, and he's a new favorite of mine! :) I like what he does with lighting and amazing detail... Here's a link to a bio: http://www.aviationarthangar.com/wisph1.html
