Stephen's Birthday and then Snow!

Stephen's Birthday!

The younger ones try their hand...

The guys went and cut off the dead branches on a pasture full of trees, for our neighbors whose goats had eaten off the needles...

It looks so much nicer now!

Wild rose in winter

This photo struck me because of the elements of the barbed wire and thorns next to each other--both formidable in similar ways--but one God made and the other man made.

Snow!

Our first snow this winter, and it actually floated down and didn't vanish!

Snow on trees

A Snow Cow!

Junk : )

I had never noticed the dramatic tree in the background here, until I saw this photo Ben took

Drifts on the eastern windows!

Deborah's Snow Man!

Licking snow off the ruler!

Measuring the depth

Deborah hastens in with snow for snow ice cream---something we always do if it snows!

The "drift" at the door!

Coming down very thick!

With the winter world behind her, Deborah looks at pictures she took

Snow Angel

A hole in our "deck"

White Flyer is a very appropiate name for snow--though the box is full of clays!

Sunday shoes on Snow

Because of the warmth in the house, and the steepness of our roof, the snow would slide a foot off the roof and then break off, slide off more and break off... Our roof didn't stay white for very long!

More ruler licking!

  2. That's the first thing she always does when we get snow -- runs outside with a ruler! :)
