Ruth again!

There is a green hill far away,
Outside a city wall,
Where the dear Lord was crucified,
Who died to save us all.

He died that we might be forgiv’n,
He died to make us good,
That we might go at last to Heav’n,
Saved by His precious blood.
There was no other good enough
To pay the price of sin;
He only could unlock the gate
Of heaven and let us in.

O dearly, dearly has He loved,
And we must love Him, too,
And trust in His redeeming blood,
And try His works to do.
--Cecil Alexander

Sunset on the Pond...

Stay, stay at home, my heart, and rest;
Home-keeping hearts are happiest,
For those that wander they know not where
Are full of trouble and full of care;
To stay at home is best.

Weary and homesick and distressed,
They wander east, they wander west,
And are baffled and beaten and blown about
By the winds of the wilderness of doubt;
To stay at home is best.

Then stay at home, my heart, and rest;
The bird is safest in its nest;
O'er all that flutter their wings and fly
A hawk is hovering in the sky;
To stay at home is best.

--Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I thank my God for the beautiful land he has given us.

Ferdinand...

Ferdinand the Steer, (in the corner of this picture) is finally going to find his way into our freezer--where he belongs. And just as we came to that momentous decision to have it done now, he starts bothering us by getting out of his fence repeatedly! The problem with his getting out is, #1 he likes collard greens, and #2 we have so many big glass windows that we have to run for cover when he gets out so that he doesn't see us in the house and decide to come in--people are equivalent to food for him. ( every time he sees people they feed him!)
This epoch is about to end forever (?) on Monday morning at 8:00, and we will have a large quantity of ground beef instead!

I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.
Psalm 69:30-31

The trio hang out...

Spring is a wonderful time of year!

"It bears the song of the skylark down,
And it hears the singing of the town;
And youth on the highways
And lovers in byways
Follows and sees;
And hearkens the song of the leas,
And sings the songs of the highways."

--Robert Louis Stevenson
Here are three fishers just back from a trout derby with Dad! It was so funny that they each got a trophy--and all of them were third place! This happened two weeks ago--if you wonder about all the things that have happened to us since October you will have to remain curious, as I have decided to "file bankruptcy" as regards blogging, having too great a debt of pictures un-posted to ever get up to date. : )

We have had so much fun with Ruth M! What a sweet little girl she is!

The very blessed family!

Ruth already shows symptoms of camera shyness... : )

Wonderful people!

But she is also very photogenic!

Stephen finds guests from far-away places very soporific--one of his favorite words by the way, after reading about "The Flopsy Bunnies"!
