Kind of a quirky quote! ;) Please don't think I'm praising fairy stories here -- but I think the point Chesterton makes is good. Stories which speak of heroes can be very profitable -- they can challenge children to excel, to be brave, to stand for what is right. On the other hand, stories which maunder on and have no point, no inspiration, do not encourage children to reach for higher things. :)
