The National Aerobatic Competition - Monday

It's a chilly early morning at the hanger...

...and pilots from all over the US are here receiving a briefing for the National Aerobatic Competition!

This plane is competing in the highest class, Unlimited.

Going through the moves on the ground -- they must memorize their flight pattern.

Neat (expensive!!!!) airplanes are everywhere!

Competitors polish and prepare their planes...

Tom & Andrew look over Tom's.

A relic from former days ;)

Competitors in the Unlimited class pull about 12 G's on some of the maneuvers -- and they don't wear G-suits!

A way to get around the vast spaces of an airport!

Pushing Tom's plane out.

Mr. B and Mark & Mike drove up from SA -- it was fun to see them!

And some local friends came to watch :)

Stands out, doesn't it? ;) Our old mud-truck -- many a mucky road it has conquered!

Gorgeous

  1. I think I like the look of these small planes better than the big ones - there seems to be such room for creativity!
