Third Anniversary of the Land, Air Show, and Andrew's Birthday!

We have celebrated the day we bought our land every year by going out to eat--this time at our favorite restaurant--La Hacienda Ranch!

We always bring quarters and Deborah and Stephen ride the

This "bucking bull" barely moved! (It was new--probably Osha approved)

And the Air Show!

Does not this planes nose remind you of Snoopy?

Preparing for a "precision landing"

What a neat thing the smoke chain is!

Oracle cuts the tape 18 feet above the ground, rotating to cut the next, and then the third...

...And then flies successfully up into the sky!

This school bus goes (they say) 350 m.p.h.!

We were impressed by this pilots extreme accuracy in the execution of his stunts!

Afterburners on the F-22!

This formation trio was very neat to see!

This pilot is 76 years old--and still fit enough to withstand 6+ G's!

This cute child has fallen asleep despite the noise and sun!

Blue Angels Pilots
The Blue Angels have a choreographed preparation for take-off which is very precise. (except that there was a lady who failed to keep up with the men at one point!)
There they go!

"That was great!"

What was neat about this was seeing the middle two turn over--it was so quick!

Very close...

The two solo pilots executed this maneuver--which was quite nerve wracking--I couldn't tell how close they actually got, but see them racing toward each other-----

Smoke off

Smoke on

They go their separate ways!

All six!

This poor light got run over...

Au revoir!

We all got varying degrees of sunburn!

And now Andrew's birthday!
Very fitting that we should go to an air show the day before, because planes have always been his favorite thing!

No he did not turn two! That was just my lack of creativity that caused that.

  1. The airshow looks SO fun! :) I've liked watching the Blue Angels perform their shows (I've never seen them in person, but on a video). Pretty neat! It's funny, I was about 4 and I wanted to be an airplane pilot.

    Happy belated birthday, Andrew!

    We miss you already!

  5. It was the Putmans. You all know them, don't you? Didn't you help them move in?

  6. We do know the Putmans, but didn;t see them there -- there were more than several thousand people there. :)
